    Over Clocked NF7-S V2.0 Issues :(

    Good Day

Im having a bit of trouble with my system:

    XP-M 2500 Barton
    NF7-S V2.0
    Corsair XMS 512Mb DDR 400MHz PC3200

This system has been running stable for almost 2 and a half years running at 200@11, with low temps. Everything has been hunky dory.

Over the last month or so ive been getting the odd BSOD, but nothing too often. Then 2 weeks ago it started getting stuck whilst booting, (at the point it detects CPU RAM etc) A simple turn off then on, and it would boot fine. But now..... running at 200@11, I get a BCOD when ever I load any prog, game, even going start/all programs. Setting back to stock (1.8ghz I think) it runs fine with out any crashing. Ive checked/cleaned fans, temps are fine.

Could the CPU / memory be getting a little past it?

Clean the dust out! My HSF was jammed with dust and the memory sticks coated when I looked (have NF7-S V2.0 o/c 2.4 Ghz Athlon). It was slightly unstable at 2.4 Mhz after smooth running for years, had to reduce to 2.2 Mhz!

Cleaned the dust and it's running great again

Memory sticks can degrade over time though, so might be that as Howard says

    Must of been really bad

It could just be getting old, it does happen. Like others have suggested clear out the dust, preferably with compressed air(get it from maplin). not everything has a temp sensor on it, so i could be something else over heating.

Keep an eye on the chipset fan and check that it is still spinning up properly. The one on my NF7-S stopped after a while and I had similar problems to you until i put a good old zalman passive on it
