That's pretty nice. I'm told you need to make sure you get the DVI version as there are some VGA only monitors going about and to make sure the monitor you get is not a refurb. Perhaps these issues are only for the bigger 24 inch monitor, but still be prepapred.

For £260 you could get a 22" monitor if that's your thing (bigger). I played CS:Source on my iiyama 22" last night and it was great, DOD:Source is also a blast and so it pretty much everyother game. This is coming from a higher resolution, albiet smaller 19 inch CRT.

I use my monitor for films as well and the extra inches make a lot of difference - it'll also be cool for Xbox 360 fans.

The Viewsonic 2025 is a lovely monitor. Its not too much over your budget either.

I had a viewsonic 2025 and it was horrendous, and so was the service from viewsonic. If you do go for one of those, make sure it is from the later batches that have had the firmware applied for the DVI problem, otherwise, you will end up returning your brand new monitor and youll receive a mucky old reconditioned one for your trouble.

Either the Samsung the Asus or the iiyama are all good options.

Most places have upped their prices a little bit or are out of stock. Still worth the extra £20 and waiting a bit to get those extra inches.

Im in the same situation atm looking for a monitor and its a real headache trying to find the right balance of quality vs price.

You can find some 22" monitors below the £300 mark but they are not as good some as higher priced 20" monitors. And almost all 22" monitors have a native res of 1680x1050 the same as 20/21" monitors which means that 22" models tend to be of a lesser quality.

As for your choice alot depends on your monitor needs and how good of a monitor u want. If its purely for PC use and you want the best than i would reccomend the 20.1" NEC 20WGX2 but its around the £370 mark. For a budget of £270 i would reccomend the Viewsonic VX2025VM. Just so you know neither of these monitors have HDCP and if thats something you would want then i would reccomend the Dell 2007WFP which can be picked up from ebay at around the £300 mark or around £340 from online stores.

You know there is a 30second fix to the DVI problem, which basically involves plugging in both DVI cables then restarting your computer. If you RMI your monitor for this then you have made a big mistake. I have had this problem once so far in 3months. Yeah its annoying but really not that bad.

Gaming wise, its perfect and I really like it.
