    OEM CPUs

Hi guys - i want to buy a E6600 - and i will be purchasing an arctic cooler heatsink. However - i dont want to waste cash with the retail CPU, and the cooler included with this would be a waste. The normal sites i use (scan, dabs, overclockers and ebuyer) dont seem to have OEM cpus...

Anyone know a reliable site which sells them? And why the main ones dont!?

Only seen the E6300 in OEM packaging.

And i beleive OEM only has a 1 month warranty, so theres more to it then the heatsink.

Scan quite often have OEM cpus.

As you say they are the same as the retail, but minus the cooler and only 1 years warrenty.

All OEM's, doesnt matter what component they are, should carry at least a 12 month warranty!!!

go for the retail the extra few quid is worth it for the two yrs extra

although technically when you overclock your product you void the warranty so every single conroe user has voided their warranty slightly

Is that like being 'slightly' pregnant?

Most conroe users I know aren't overclocking at all, there's no need to.

Ah, that's because I know people in the real world, not the small minority of crazed tech-heads that form a collective here at Hexus
