Of course she does, she just doesn't know it.

Going to do a quick search for comparative laptops to check pricing but think I'll go for this one.

    Thanks

battery life in Rock's tends to be a tad on the low side and the 5400 hdd's are slow.

For your wife's sake, I would look into upgrading the screen res. I have similar ASUS laptop with a 1280x800 screen and it feels quite cramped, especialy when viewing photos (let alone editiong them).

Of course a higher res screen will harm your interests because you will get a lower frame rate in games when you play at native resolution.

I would second going for a higher res, they use that resolution in 12inch laptops so in a 15.4 inch everything is quite big and cramped.

I'm actually quite annoyed that the majority of laptops use 15" and 1280 by 800... should be getting at least 1440x900, and if not then more like 1680x1050 (WSXGA), further to this most 17" screens are 1440x900 but then, yet again, its the same problem just a larger screen. Apple's got it about right with their macbook screens I reckon. other than that I see a lot of laptops as a rather false economy, you're stuck with the screen you get which on the whole isn't always the best
