Price Check Please..

Hey Guys,

Sorting a mate out with one of my old PCs, trouble is he wont take it for nothing - much as I say that its ok, he wants to know what the market value is.

Jus wondering what this spec would fetch:

Athlon 2000+ (266fsb)
512mb DDR 266 RAM
Radeon 7500 32mb
ECS K7S5A Mobo
DVD-Rom/CD-RW Drives
80 Gb Samsung HDD.

Offered him a 19" Monitor with it, but he hasn't got the room Question is, what do you think that spec would fetch - it isn't great, but it'll do the web browsing/myspace that he wants, and besides hes got a PS2 for gaming.

I guess it would depend how used it is (e.g. thrashed with daily usage and/or overclocking over the years).

Gut reaction is to say about 80-150 squids. You can get brand new low spec pre-built PCs (although prolly only 256Mb RAM) for around 250 including a monitor.

Never overclocked (motherboard didn't allow it), used daily but not abused.

Will try and include some new fans in it for him, make it a bit quieter

I would say about £80, as not everything would reach good value, and the graphics is pretty shameful lol

not bad if its just being used for working/browsing though, you could do far worse

I'm thinking I'll just get him to buy XP Home, Keyboard & Mouse and I'll give it to him - that adds up to about £80-90, gives him a PC to work on
