Shuttle SN45G AGP Voltage Protection Prob with Ti4200

Hi,

Just got my nice silver shiny SN45G today, put it all together with some old bits from my main computer (which is on being upgraded, the old bits going to good use). Tried sticking my Inno3d Geforce4 Ti4200 in, and the AGP voltage protection led comes on and the system wont boot.

The card is the earlier AGPx4, but aren't all AGPx8 boards backwards compatible with AGPx4? According to the shuttle manual, it has to be 1.5V, not 3.3v, as far as I'm aware don't AGPx4 cards use 1.5v?

If anyone knows the solution/cause please let me know. Was going to get a Radeon 9600 Pro or 9600XT to go in my main computer, but if it wont use the nvidia card, I might have to make do with a radeon 9200 instead.

I use a ti4200 in my SN45G and have no issues at all. It's a Creative 8x AGP card and works great. Overclocked it and it was still stable. Not sure about the voltages, sorry.

My Leadtek Ti4200 works fine too, despite being 4xAGP. Some weird BIOS option you've overlooked perhaps?

Just got the machine on Wednesday, put it together and it's never booted, so its not a BIOS option and I've even reset it to defaults.

Also noticed the psu is made by enhance and is making ticking noises every half-second, so possibly looking to return it and have a lump of coal for christmas instead.

return the PSU... and use a standard ATX psu for the time being until ya replacement PSU arrives.
