Twinmos memory

I was looking at some twinmos memory (as i may buy some in the very distant future), and was wondering which type is best, normal or 'twister'?

Also, is twinmos that good? I don't want to spend too much on memory, and would like 2x256 pc3200.

some of it is VERY good. i have a stick of pc2700 doing 230fsb at stock volts @ 2.5-3-3-7.
good ram DOESNT DEPEND ON BRAND! it depends on the chips used.

If you can get hold of sticks with winbond chips that should be the best bet, I know that komplett used to stock PC3200 with winbond but dunno about its avaliablity atm unfurtunatly.
Ive only heard good things of late about Twinmoss though.

:) TwinMOS have diff RAM chips on them, WinBond are among the best but any TwinMOS should offer great value anyway. I think Twister is their flagship stuff, I doubt many people can justify buying or needing it really. You could also look at Adata or Crucial although their timings tend to be slower. Anyway so long as you stay away from the unknown brands you should be perfectly fine.

PS. Any RAM stick with WinBond chips does not guarantee good compatibility, stability or o/c'ability ... you still need the implimentation to be good as it is known to be with TwinMOS. CPUcity & Komplett top places to buy.

any ram with samsung CLT chips will be v good (mentioned above) also DLT samsung chips are good but not as much...
ive got a stick of twinmos with M.TEC chips which seem ok but my mobo doesnt like 230fsb too much atm so theres no way for me to push them :(

what other CHIPS used on memm are good? i cant think of any others atm

I want 2*512MB, low latency if poss and speed up around the 3200+ mark..

It's getting a bit confusing out there, OCZ, Corsair, Kingston all offer various things, but which set is the best?

Is there any reason why people are choosing two sticks of ram (e.g 2 x 256mb)?

Should they be paired? Just deciding on memory for my NF7 & barton 2500 upgrade.

2 Sticks means you can dual DDR on dual DDR enabled motherboards.
They don't have to be paired - the advantage if they are is they are almost certain to overclock to very very close levels of each other. The disadvantage is usually the unjustified inflated price.

With two sticks you can run dual channel ddr - I think this is faster than just one stick of the same size

I see, I had flashbacks of when you had to put memory in PCs in pairs :(


So I can see that I might do well to buy two sticks of ram then with my proposed NF7-S

If I am using DDR400 (e.g TWINMOS PC3200 512MB DDR400 CL2.5 OEM ) with two sticks and plan to oc a barton using a FSB of 200 will any two sticks of the same brand be ok?

also you can use 3 sticks in dual chan. i use 3x 256 :)
