    Build Me A System!

    I'm looking to upgrade my system, budget £350 which must include the following:
    - Motherboard
    - Processor
    - Memory
    - Graphics Card

    At the moment I'm looking for something in the realms of:
    - Budget AM2 Motherboard (Probably ASRock / MSI at around £40)
    - Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+
    - 2GB DDR2 Memory
    - 7600GT / 7900GS Graphics

    This comes to almost exactly £350. Might upgrade my case / PSU depending whether I sell my current machine whole or as parts, but that can be budgeted separately.

    Does anyone recommend any changes to the above configuration that would still weigh in under £350 ??

      • Motherboard:
      • DFI "Blood Iron" P35-T2RL
      • CPU:
      • Intel Pentium E2140 @ 400x8 (3.2GHz), 1.375v
      • Memory:
      • Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 CL4 @ 500MHz (DDR 1000), 4-4-4-12-T2, 2.3v
      • Storage:
      • 2x Seagate ST3250410AS
      • Graphics card(s):
      • NVIDIA 8800GTS (G92) 512 @ 783MHz core, 1836MHz shader, 1053Mhz memory, stock cooling 70% fan speed
      • PSU:
      • Seasonic SS-500GB
      • Case:
      • Antec P182, with some small modifications
      • Monitor(s):
      • ASUS VW222U
      • Internet:
      • Time Warner "Road Runner" Cable - 16 megabit downstream, 1 megabit upstream
    I would really try to spring for a better motherboard, or a Core 2 Duo, if at all possible. An E6300 will destroy an X2 3800+. If you can manage another 40-50 pounds it will be worth it.

    Budget, but name brand, DDR2 667 should be more than sufficent.

    A 7900GS is a better deal than the 7600GT.
