OK looking at getting a new set of speakers.
Just wondering what you use?
was looking at either:
Altec Lansing FX6021 or Bose COMPANION 3 Mk2
has any one got these speakers and give me some feed back on them

I wouldn't go for the Bose - for that kind of money (£200) you can get the excellent logitech z5500 (which is 5.1 rather than 2.1 and 500W)
The Lansing's look good, but are a bit pricey - no experience with them though
thanx not sure if i want 5.1 tho
I didn't think I wanted 5.1 until I watched a couple of DVDs on my mates computer with a Creative 5.1 - makes a big diff if you watch movies...
if you want value for money look into the Logitech 2.1s, you get a lot for what you pay. Look at:
Logitech Z-2300
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
Both around £80-100 and v good sound quality
PS, sorry I can't be any help on the two you asked about
If you can stretch a little, you could get the M-Audio LX4 2.1 system (expandable later to 5.1 if you so wish). Else for 2.1 you maybe able to find a amp and some bookshelf speakers (even if only 2nd hand) that will likely sound better than most 'PC speakers' you can get.
My sig shows what can be done via ebay for less than £60 !
My NAD 3020a was £30 and so were my JPW Mini Monitors, and they are available fairly often.
Completely blows PC speaker systems away - 20 wrms per channel, pre/power amp with I/O links, a great phono stage for turntables. The JPWs are bracket mounted high up above my PC (you might find a photo in my PC setup photos, wherever that thread is now).
I'm happy to advise on alternatives to my setup.
what about some quality headphones? can be cheaper and better sounding than speakers
