    Toshiba warranty repair

The USB port on my brothers toshiba laptop has basically fallen apart so he rang toshiba to get it repaired as it is still under warranty . They have said though if they think laptop has been damaged due to miss use , dropped etc that they will charge a £99 examination fee if not its free collect and return. He hasnt dropped it the port has just come away when removing a pen drive but is it worth the risk ? Anyone had any experience with toshiba ?
    Cheers for any help

had an exprerience with IBM which may have been posted on here but not can't remember.

You'd find that warrentys only cover mechanical failure; not human error. Is he 100% certain that he didn't break the port by accident? Have any photos?

Am about surprised about the cost of the examination fee.. was £53 by IBM for me.
