OK, she's barking; Acer simply aren't (IME) very good machines...that being said, out of the reputable dealers, Insight have them at £587.49 inc VAT.

Nothing special, but of all the models we've had they've been pretty solid. Of the 50 or so we have at work (getting hammered daily by 10-13 yr olds), we've had one issue with a faulty board in one, stopping it from switching on. I had to deal with the (in)famous ACER support, but despite all the warnings, the entire RMA procedure went through quickly and smoothly. Maybe I got lucky, but a 100% score rate so far.

my (Acer Ferrari 3200 -all about the blang blang ) has been good and solid and the customer service wasnt too bad either (had to replace the mobo - they arranged for the courier to pick up and drop off, turnaround was about a week and a bit)

they also tend to go light on the bloatware which is always a plus in my books

not a bit fan of Toshibas, seen too many of them break, but that was a few years ago, otherwise the specs look good (except I would get another 512 Mb of RAM)

It's not a bad spec for £450 I suppose, but it's not all that great. Had you bought it at the asking, they'd have been laughing long and hard.
