Screwdriver.
that it? if so thats a peice of p***, was expecting it to need a few more tools than that
But the machines i've build have been done with just one screwdriver, cases these days tend to have thumbscrews etc, and HD's can be mounted on rails aswell - its almost a tool-less thing to do in my (albeit limited) experience.
Cable ties can be usefull
plasters :) if you get a cheap case you'll need plenty of plasters to dress your wounds...
A spare set of fingers and a swear box :D
i needed some pliers when i built a mates PC, although that was only becuase of the poor case quality. If you've got a good case then just get yourself a screwdriver and your in business - u might also want something to spread the thermal paste with (bit of an old credit card works a treat)
£50 Case, should be ok...if not ill wear gardening gloves :) save my fingers from further cuts...also got a few credit cars type things laying around for thermal paste
thanks guys
I think I only used a screwdriver on mine, and even then, you can get screwless cases :).
 no idea if mine has screws or not...have to check when i get it :)
Ouch ... cheap case have cut my fingers in the past, building my current system I managed to butcher my little finger fitting the M/B I/O back plate to the case. My finger went through one of the PS/2 holes - got my finger stuck in the hole just had to grin and bear it and pull - lots of blood.
Tools: strange as it sounds just a screw driver.
Anyone who has fried a component with static will recommend an anti static straps - I have never used one. I earth myself on another electrical appliance, normally the shinny metal on the toaster in the kitchen.
My Tip for building a new PC, add a few bits at a time. I normally connect the PSU, M/B, CPU and memory then start it up, keep adding bits (video card, HD, DVD, sound card etc) one at a time.
A few times connected everything then power up - and nothing. Dismantle the whole thing, added a few bit at a time, and ended with everything in the same place but the PC works...
** Note if you do power up the PSU it can hold charge for a long time, so bear it mind if you are disconnect/connecting bits **
A philips screw driver, a nice case and some thermal compound.
ditto.. all you need is a screwdriver.. maybe some allen's key if you're using allen's screws to lock the motherboard in place..
