i have seen a pc system for sale on a web site with the core 2 duo e6400 cpu and was told to go for the MSI P965 Neo-F motherboard as an upgrade from a Asus P5L-MX.
do you guys think that the P965 Neo is a decent budget board for the core 2 duo cpu ?
not into gaming or anything like that, it will just be a home pc , some web surfing, maybe burning a few cds/dvd's and general office work !
If it's just for surfing, a bit of word and a few DVDs, do you really need a C2D? Even if you do, just get the E6300 and save a few pennies.
No idea on that motherboard though.
its a really good deal though on the e6400 core 2 duo and i guess i will be future proof for a few years at least !

i was tempted to chose the MSI board myself, but then I read that it wasn't good for OC'ing. In the end I chose the ASUS P5B Deluxe/Wifi board (£125 on scan) which is the one to get if you're going C2D.

Review conclusion.
I've used MSI for donkeys, found them reliable easy to setup.
Your not OC'ing so what u need is reliability,MSI has always given me that.
I cant agree about MSI reliability, I have recently had two dead motherboards, one of them was dead out of the box, and the other was dead within 24 hours. I have currently got a faulty MSI router, and in the past I have had Numerous other MSI parts fail, including a socket 7 board, a 939 board, and a graphics card.
Asus P5B has been the most impressive and reliable board that I have used recently.
