    psu 400W

    480W XClio-SCF aPFC Super Silent (21Db) 12cm Fan 8/20/24 ATX2/2.01 12vEPS + SATA+PCI-E Hi-End..

settled on this as i need it to be as quiet as possible. Any better ones for 50 pounds ? Or even quieter for more?

Just so you know, 21dB isn't silent - it's quite quiet, but that's a rather misleading title they use (they're not the only ones of course).

Personally, I'd grab the Tagan for a tenner more at Scan, or if you want really quiet, the Zalman for £15 more.

Great PSU - right on your budget, they are pretty quiet, modular and have decent 12v rails and plenty of connectors.

I agree. The Enermax/Fortrons/XCLIOs are fantastic.
I run the 620W Enermax Liberty and its BRILLIANT.......so stable its untrue and practically silent.

Keep away from the lower end Tagans. Their 12V rails are poo!!!

The s12-430 is now in stock at scan, possibly the quietest fanned psu:

Having said that I had a 400W Liberty for a while and they are excellent power supplies too.

I've been using the FSP 500W for a while now, and I certainly can't hear it unless I press my lug to it.

Pretty cheap, and it's rails are absolutely solid. Best PSU I've ever owned by a country mile, including the Tagans.

    I'd recommend the Seasonic 430.

The others (Enermax, FSP/Fortron) are good as well as advised by Blitzen.
