Thread: No sound on first boot

    No sound on first boot

    I have this strange problem, when I first boot my rig I get no soud at all but when I reboot its fine

    Soundcard is built in to the motherboard

    Specs

    MSI Neo4 K8N SLI, built in sound blaster live 24 bit

    OS is xp pro
    Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

    Did you get a CD with your motherboard? If so, have you installed all the stuff off it?

    Theres usually some drivers for your sound chip on the motherboard, aswell as maybe some motherboard updates and stuff. Its worth installing all that if you haven't done already.

    Its also worth having a quick look in your bios to check that everything is in order. And then when you boot up, watch what it says incase there is an error message in there or something. Other than that, I'm not really sure why it would work on a second boot but not first time.
