    p4 2.6 stepping

    i just recieved my 2.6 800fsb p4 2 day with the stepping as SL6WS just wanted to know if this 1 is gonna be a good 1 for overclocking?

    yes, if you got a good motherboard.

    my friend overclock a 2.4 with asus p4c800-e deluxe upto 3.1ghz

    so 2.6 will go up to 3.4ghz, if you good at overclocking.

    Kingabs, there is only one way to try, Stepping means nothing - you can always get a bad one in the bunch, best of luck with the overclocking, let us know how you get on.

    my 2.4 reaches 3gig nicely, i'm quite happy with that and don't feel like i need to push it any further, 250fsb is the standard overclock, so you'd get 3.25Gig if you just do that, pretty good if you ask me.

    3.25gig seems easy for a 2.6C TBH.... Its what I am sitting on just now but I think my memory is stopping it going higher (issue with running OCZ @ 5:4 ratio on an IC7-G)

    Hopefully a BIOS update will fix it

    This is d1 stepping i believe. This is the usual p4 c stepping. These overclock well but not quite as well as the M0 stepping p4s

    ok me got a p4p800 mb with x 2 256mb corsair 3500xms plat version 1.1 any more ideas on overclocking terms now?
