I just bought one of these along with a 34gb Raptor, an x1950 pro and a load of other bits. It was a bit of an impulse buy and I was wondering if I've made a mistake? I WILL be overclocking pretty much everything (including the graphics if I can). Thanks

For any single carded system these are plenty and are excellent value.

This isn't the one that's the same as the Antec Trupower, but should still be ok in terms of stability. Not sure what kind of Amperage they output though.

Thanks for the repies . I'm guessing the xcylio is better than the Hiper Type R that I was going to get so I'm faily happy.

Trust me.......the only good thing about the Hiper is the 'bling' factor!!!

The XCLIO is the better PSU.

Blitzen is dead right. X-Clio is little known in the UK, I have used the basic Goodpower and the 550 watt Greatpower in various builds for customers. None have failed
They are actually manufactured by ChannelWell Tech who produce mainly for the server market so reliability should be good.
Built to X-Clios design spec the standard 80mm fans were replaced with the 140mm, its quiet, very quiet.

I am about to det up a system running the 750 watt version on an Abit AW9D E6600 Geforce 8800 GTX etc, my own system, if I didnt trust them I wouldnt risk it on this system.
The 750 watt is only £76 from Scan, Bargin.

Thats exactly the selling point Hiper, and a few others try and get you with. Have you noticed that almost ALL good PSUs are plain and all the poorer units are shiny and bright (Hiper & Ultra spring to mind for starters). Its to hide the inadequacies under the casing tbph.

WP for ignoring the bling unit and for going for the better unit.

YOu won't be disappointed.

Cheers guys. I'm now slightly worried though. The reason I bought it (other than the fact that my old one was ****) was because my cpu voltages were fluctuating by about half a volt either way. Its still doing it though. Could it be my motherboard?

How are you measuring them?
What are the readings?

I had a thread about it a while ago which I've resurrected. It goes from about 1.3-1.45 according to sys-tool and cpuz.

Edit: I just thought of something, could it be the motherboard reading the wrong values. Considering my CPU is running at "75c".

Quite possibly. The only way to truly measure voltage is with a digital multimeter, I'm sure there is a guide on how to do it somewhere. Same idea with temperature, the probes on the motherboard aren't going to be that accurate, though I would suggest that its a bios problem rather than a sensor one it that is wildly out.

I wouldnt worry, does your system crash, have many BSOD, freeze up etc. If not then forget it. It is more likely as dave has said a crap mobo sensor reading.

Isn't CPU voltage regulation purely done by the motherboard rather than the PSU anyway?

A couple of things things affect it - how many phases you have: 3 phase transformers create more fluctuation than 4 for example, whether your motherboard is set to comply with European EMI regulations: in which case they might slightly fluctuate voltage to create a broader/less intense spectrum of EMI, and things like cool n quiet on AMD chips.
