Gigabyte Ga-965p-dq6?

What do you people think of this motherboard?
It looks to me like a good mobo for around £130 ish
It is for core 2 duo

It says that it can support crossfire but i think it is one slot x16 and one slot x8?
I haven't herd anything about any problems, unless.......

it's a good board but doesn't really seem to offer much more over the DS4.
There is also a Rev. 2.0 version of most Gigabyte 965 boards announced although not yet in the shops afaik.

when running Crossfire the 2nd slot runs at x4 - if Crossfire is in your future you may be better with a 975 board.

according to this page, the board has 2xPCIe x16 slots, I wasn't aware however that Intel added Crossfire support to the P965 northbridge.

The second slot is physically a 16x but only electrically wired to supply 4 PCI-E lanes.

Not that I would want you to do it.....but you can take a 16x PCI-E card (like a Geforce 8800 ) and cut half of the edge-connector off of it and it would function in an 8x slot....cut half of whats left off and it will work in a 4x slot...

Hense, although the second port only works at 4x, you can place upto a 16x card in and it will still work.

I bought a DS4 instead of a DQ6 because it represented better vfm to me.
