There will be a noticable difference in games. The 7600GT runs well, and can cope with recent games.

As for whether it is worth it...

For the price of a 7600GT in AGP, you may be able to get a 7600GT in PCI-e and a PCI-e motherboard that will take your current cpu/memory etc.

    What system do you have?
    Asus Z170 Pro Gaming. i5-6500. 16gig Ripjaw 2400. Samsung 950pro NMVe 250gig+ 1tb Intel 660p. GTX Titan. Corsair TX650M.

Things have moved on since I first joined...

I'm in the same position. Got a 9800 Pro with AGP. Decided I'd be better off just going to PCI-e and biting the bullet. Probably going to wait until after Christmas to do it though.

If you want a bit more performance, if your 9800 Pro has a certain PCB and the R360 chip, you can flash it to XT speeds, which should improve things a bit.

Just google '9800 Pro to XT' and there should be some articles.

I'm not sure. I think it might be something that's unique to 9800s. The original ones came with the R350 chip, then the XT was brought out with the R360 chip, but I think to clear backlog stocks when PCI express came out, they put this chip into the Pro as well, and used the Pro bios. On flashing mine, I got XT speeds straight away, so it's not really an overclock, it's the speed the chip and memory was designed to run at.
