Hey guys, I know you get a load of these, but I was wondering if you could help me out.

I'm buying a system in January and this is what I have put together after some various pricing:



Now a few things. Bare in mind January prices will differ slightly to the ones I put up.
This is going to be a gaming rig, first off.
I am thinking that the mobo and gfx card could be changed for something better. What would you suggest?
Also, is the wattage of the PSU going to be enough, I looked at the psuwattage calc thing and it worked it out to be 282 Is that right?!
Im looking at about £850~ max
Any other suggestions wouldn't go amiss

As to the 6600 over the 6400 (I want the 4mb really unless someone can tell me that you wont really need it)
Finally, I was thinking of getting the X1950 Pro http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=481912
but wasn't sure how it goes against a 7950gt xt

(PS. Is there anything HUGE coming out within feb/march that might be worth waiting for? and when is GDDR4 coming into use properly even the 8800 doesn't use it!)

It looks okay, but I would go for the ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard, better in the long run if you decide to overclock.

Do you really the E6600?? You could downsize to the E6300 and with the savings a get a better graphics card for playing games.

With the RAM you have chosen, I would stick with the E6600 for its multiplier. Better savings there then buying faster RAM.

The P5B doesn't overclock anywhere as well as the Deluxe model from reports.

that ram and the e6600 is fine as shaitis said. Definately go for a p5b deluxe wifi, and also, find out what kind of psu is in that case, if its just a generic one, then forget overclocking.

The X1950Pro is on a par with the 7950GT and cheaper, so I'd go ATi.

The thing with deluxe is that it has wifi on it, I will never need that :/ which is why I didn't consider it. What about the i975X chipset?
Also, clunk, on the special features page for the case, it says
1 Power Supply 430W- NeoHE 430, ATX12V 2.2 - which is antecs own I believe. Will it be enough power is my worry?

Btw will the Ram actually run at the 800mhz?

You can run the ram at 800mhz, if you are overclocking, and using an e6600, youll be at 3.6ghz on the cpu before you need to overclock the ram, so no worries there.

Im not well up on that PSU, hopefully someone else will be along to say if its good or not.

I never use the wifi on the P5B deluxe, but then again, I probably wont use a lot of the other features either. The bios support seemed to be better for the deluxe, Im not sure if it still is. My experience of the 975 boards/chipset wasnt good, so i cant recommend it

Wifi isn't the only thing you get with the deluxe. It's worth it IMO.

I would recommend a separate supply just to be sure TBH. If you upgrade at any point to the next gen gfx then you'll need one for sure.

I like Tagan, Enermax, silverstone, everyone here recommends FPS and Crucial (?).
