    Twinmos Twister DDR500 PC4000 Memory

Just ordered a couple of sticks of Twinmos Twister PC4000 256mb for £38 a stick

How does anyone rate the Twinmos Twister memory, and how much more performance should I be able to get by clocking the memory to over 500mhz?

The memory I'm using at the moment is 2x256mb Elixir and it keeps crashing randomly every week or so, and the timings are farely tame, its only running at 358MHz as well, if it goes any higher it crashes every hour or so.

I thought the Twinmos sounded like a bargain, especially as its cheaper than the DDR400 and DDR433/466 varieties and boasts CL2, and in dual channel mode hopefully it should fly

    Barton 2500+ at 1970MHz (179x11), MSI K7n2-L, Inno3d Ti4200 128mb, 2x256mb Elixir RAM (7-3-3-2.5), 40gb IBM + 80GB WD 7200rpm hard drives, m-audio revolution 7.1.

Just got a shuttle (which isn't working), but planning on putting the ram and graphics card into it, and getting 512mb DDR500 for this pc, and a radeon 9600pro so plenty of overclocking potential. Just installed a Coolermaster Aero7 lite, working great, about 3degrees cooler than my evercool fan, and thats on the quietest setting, about 48C under load at about 1600rpm

At the moment if I put the FSB up any more, the RAM gives up, but if the new TwinMos will handle 500mhz no problem, should be able to put the FSB up much higher and have much tighter timings too

I think that pc4000 is a bit overkill on an AMD system, but for £38 a stick i cant see anything wrong with it!!

Its a nice system you got there, is the barton locked? (sorry dont know default multi.)

Hope you get that shuttle working.
    Good find

    pc4000 DDR500 cl2 doesn't exist afaik.
The fastest Twinmos Twister is pc4000 DDR500 cl2.5

Anyway DDR500 should run above 250fsb, so as for performance gains memory would be the last thing holding you back, and you should be capable of over 200fsb with the Barton and an nforce2 board.

ebuyer actually have the cl2.5 in stock and listed @ about £60 per 256MB (sorry, but cba checking atm).

I posted this pc4000 DDR500 cl2 RAM on bargain hunt a week ago - and ordered this myself from ebuyer at the same time, and no news, and I doubt I will ever get it
