Memory additions

If you add more memory to a cumputer how is it organised and do they have to run the same. Say if you have some stupidly low latency sticks like the corsair 2gb pc6400 dominator memory and you add some standard 4-4-4-12 pc6400 what happens, if anything, to the timings of the dominator memory, do they have to be changed. Or can the computer address of whatever them differently or separately. I dunno what I mean, I'm just curious

If the speeds and timings of the memory are the same, then in theory there should be no difference in the performance, as they can run in the same way. However, it is recommended that all memory used in a system is identical in manufacturer, type, timings and speed to ensure a matched set up.

lowest common denominator i would have though. So everything will run at the basic slower settings.

Either that or the system won't boot at all because it is confused about the memory

Most memory manufacturers recommend you use the same type of memory in regards to latency.

In regards to Dominater and standard TwinX providing they are of same latency and speed etc they are not much different apart from the DHX
