    Sharing a monitor

Can you get a simple VGA splitter so that I can use my LCD TV's VGA input with both my Xbox 360 and a PC? Curently, I have the PC connefcted via VGA and Xbox 360 by component but wanted to try out the xbox VGA cable.

    Cheers!

The component should give you good enough quality signals. Its basically the same as VGA, but without sync pins and with a different method of transferring the RGB values. You will likely get better quality with it than with any sort of cheep VGA hardware to route or split signals.

Depends, there is no EDID on the component and often you will be forced to use 1280x720 rather than 1366x768 that you can pick up on VGA.

More a resolution issue than anything else.

cheers for the answers. I actually have a KVM switch on my PC for fixing other PCs, will give that a try. The only problem with it is that it uses a keyboard combination to switch from one input to another. not sure if it'll work with only one keyboard connected...

Wait a sec, isn't that the point of a KVM switch to have only 1 keyboard connected? I think you'll just leave the KM part unconnected to the XBox

here's one i spotted in pc world some time ago:
    http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...&category_oid=
it says that it switches between two computers with a switch rather than a keyboard short cut. it also comes with ps/2 connectors and i think there is even one with audio. if you do get one let me know how it is.
