    Upgrade query.

I have the opportunity to buy an x2 3800 (s939), asus a8n sli deluxe mobo, 2 gigs of ram (g-skill) and an EVGA 7900gt (or possibly a second one also) from a mate for a very good price.

Will i see a substantial increase in performance over my current system:
    Athlon 64 3700 s754
    gigabyte nforce 3 mobo
    1.5 gigs corsair value select
    xfx 7800gs extreme edition agp

    Is it worth the upgrade?

You will see an increase, but it will depend on how much he charges you for it, if it is worth it or not.

He wants £200 for the lot (might have to negotiate to get the second 7900gt), but that seems like a very good price to me.

Sounds like a good price to me as well, especially as you can sell your old stuff and make it even cheaper.
