Hi, i have been looking into buying a sff for a while now, and i feel now is the time to buy. i was wondering if anyone could give me with any advice, i have picked 2 sff i like and feel are right for me.
The first is the Biostar iDeq 330q and the second is a Shuttle SN21G5.
Im looking for something with a 939 socket and DDR ram.
Would really like to hear your ideas and advice

hello,
did you mean the 330P?
At the moment, I have a shuttle ST20G5, and i love it. It looks great, does everything i want it to do blah blah...i do have a few complaints though -
1. It can get pretty hot - the graphics card is about a quarter of a centimetre from the casing so the cooling doesn't work well.
2. There aren't many USB ports on the back (2).
3. The IGP is annoying if you're going to use a proper video card. I assume you're going to put in a graphic card?
The Biostar looks good too, though I don't know much about the brand. it certainly has more connectivity options. I like shuttle, the build quality is awesome, nothing's gone wrong with it and i'd recommend one to anybody. aren't skt939 processors pretty expensive right now?

yeh i did mean a 330p, and the 939's arent to expensive but i have a 3000+ just lying around so i will use that, then put something more powerful in later.
i'm thinking about using a 6800gt will it cause alot of heat.
-
well, at the moment I have an X800 GTO2 from Sapphire, and when i'm going full blast in battefield 2 it can get up to 85 degrees on the gpu. that's pretty hot, but apparently it's okay. bare in mind that you can't fit a better cooler onto the card because there's barely any space as it is.
-
(the space between the pci-e slot and the casing is very very small, at least in my case.)
-
How many fans are there in a sn21g5, can any more be put in or would you have to mod the case.
-
well, if its the same as my ST20G5, which it most likely is because it has the same chassis, it has one small fan on the northbridge, one big fan at the back that cools the cpu and the box itself, and one in the psu. that's not that many...it is pretty quiet though.
you'd have to mod the case, but i don't think that'd be very hard.
-
thanks you have been alot of help, ill post some pictures when its done.
-
you're welcome, good luck choosing! look forward to seeing them soon.
-
Yup thats a good choice - Opted for the SN25P myself :)
-
After alot of looking i have ended up buying a SB81P rather then the two i picked in the begining.
-
is it possible to fit a 6800gt with a Arctic Cooling Silencer NV5 into the p chassic as the graphics card faces inwards.
-
Out of interest how much did you pay for you SN25P (or other sff) and where did you get it from :)
Applies to all of you :P
