    My New PC

Hi, Im building a new PC and was wondering if the people here could make some constructive comments etc.

I am slightly over budget at the moment but as I will not be buying until jan/feb (r600 release) - I should be under or just on budget.

I already have the CD/DVD Drives so no matter for those (except an extra SATA cable for my DVD Drive)

Okay so here are the Specs

Antec Nine Hundred Gamer Case (£075.14 # Scan # LN16718)

    2X 120MM Coolermaster Blue LED Case Fan (£008.20 # Scan # LN8599)

    600w Seasonic M12 PSU (£110.44 # Scan # LN16008)

    19" Novatech 19" 1440x900 {DVI} (£139.82 # NovaTech # TFT-NOV19W)

    Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i S775 Mobo, (£176.24 # Scan # LN16814)

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (£198.21 # Scan # LN15049)

    Zalman CNPS9700-LED CPU Fan (£040.64 # Scan # LN LN16149)

    BFG Tech 8800GTX (£452.25 # Scan # LN16658)

    160 Gb Samsung SpinPoint P80 HDD (£38.89 # Scan # LN9709)

    2Gb Corsair XMS2 - 4-4-4-12 EPP {DDR2-800} (£180.53 # Scan # LN14277)

Total @ Scan (Inc Shipping): £1297.85
Total @ Novatech (Inc Shipping) £145.69

I would be happy for people to suggest an alternative for that monitor but it MUST BE

    >Similarly Priced and Spec'ed
    >A DVI Connector

If anyone can suggest any other changes (Similar Pricing then Id be happy to hear this).

I would prefer to shop from a single supplier if possible (i.e.) and may pick up a Xerox Monitor in the sales depending on how much its reduced, its currently £189.99 so if its reduced by a few more quid, I'll get that.

    Thanks

    MT

I'd say the main parts of that rig are fine. Those fans will probably be LOUD so loose those. Besides, that case probably has serviceable ones already installed. As for the CPU fan, downgrade it for an Arctic one. They're much better apparently (and they're cheap as hell). You might want to get a slightly better hard drive. From what I've heard, the Samsung's main selling point is the quietness but your not gonna get quiet with those parts . The case is a matter of personal preference. Personally I think the 900s are ugly but thats just me . Just make sure you can fit your graphics card in it .

Well the case only comes with 4 (can support upto 6 - but would the seagate cuda be better than that samsung?

    ww23.tomshardware.com/storage.html

I dont know if that helps at all.

and I Know that zalman cools very well (i used one in a build for someone).

so any other suggestions - PS the Xerox monitor I saw was NOT ugly; ww.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0910832835.1166992764@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdjaddjjmfmfeicflgceggdhhmdfjf. 0&page=Product&sku=884378&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&tabIndex=1

    Samsung quiet, Seagate speed.

all id say is it would probably be better to go for a 22" monitor (1680 x 1050) as your GFX card of choice can certainly cope

the case is not so bad - its the best cooling in that price range - and doesnt actually look so bad - for the monitor my GFX card can stand it but my wallet and DESK cant (my desk isnt that big!

800GTX twinned with a 19" monitor? cant see the point..
19" monitor has like refresh rate of 80 Max so only see 80 FPS, GTX is gonna do much more. The screen is like a bottleneck for any 8800 IMO.

22" would be a safebet look here http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...=486&OrderBy=3

Will the GTX even fit in there? I just fitted a GTS into the Nine Hundred which had quite a lot of room left, but I don't know how much larger the GTX is.
