DVD drive not found

Just got this drive and installed it, but it isn't shown on My Computer. It's not on the device manager but it is shown in the bios. It's connected via this to a sata port.

I can't find any drivers on the NEC website so I don't know how to make it show.

Does it work if you connect it to the IDE port on the motherboard with an IDE cable?

I have the same drive and am also having major problems getting it to work, sometimes it works other times it dosnt. Driving me mad!

does work with IDE, which is a pain as I wanted to use sata but anyway will have to do i suppose.

Are you using that Scan interface thingy with anything else? If not RMA it.
