Fairly noisy PC-7B II fans

A few weeks ago I unplugged my back and front fans from the PC-7B and the PC was near on silent. (120mm PSU and 120mm heatsink were still going). It made me realize how noisy the stock PC-7B fans are.

Has anyone else noticed that the PC-7B PLUS II fans are rather noisy? My Coolermaster Wavemaster produces near enough the same ammount of noise as my PC-7B. The wavemaster uses 80mm fans!

What fans do you guys recommend? Yate Loons still the best?

I see the Scythe S-FLEX recommended quite a bit recently, are they the same as the 120mm used on the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B ?

What puts me off getting a Yate Loon is the price... £3.99 for one. S-FLEXs are £12 for one... surely such a big price difference means something?

When it comes to fans it seems its all about personal preferance and experience. A lot of people say go for Yte Loon, Asaka Amber all kind of different suggestions will be made. I personally like the Sharkoon Golfballs.

A few people have now said that the Yate Loons match up to the S-FLEXs. At only £3.99 each I think I'll give them a go. If they're no good I'll sell them off for £1.99 or something

Personally I love the S-FLEXs.

One thing to pay attention to is the speed, the faster the fan the more noisey.
So a S-Flex 1600rpm is going to be louder than the 1200rpm or 800rpm version.
But of course the faster the fan speed the more air it's going to move.

the Sharkoon golfball 1000rpm is suposed to be very quite and push slightly more air than other fans at the same speed due to it's dimpled surface (but how much of that is just marketing and gimmick I don't know as scan were out of stock when I wanted to get one)

The Thermaltake A2330 Silent Wheel is suposed to be quite good as well, mainly because it's a 130mm fan designed to be mounted on a 120mm space, however it is slightly larger so if your fan space is very tight it might not fit.

My CPU fan (Scythe Ninja Plus Rev. B) spins at 1200RPM constantly (CPU fan control off) which is near enough silent, so my guess is a Yate Loon (1300) would be pretty much silent?

I have one, and it pushes enough air as an exhaust fan that it keeps the case as cool as the 2000rpm fan it replaced.

800rpm is silent for all intents and purposes. 1200rpm is near silent. 1600rpm can be heard in a reasonably quiet case. I reckon 1300rpm would be very quiet. Whether you'd hear it depends on the other fans in the system, including the PSU, but you wouldn't hear a lot.

My PSU and CPU fan are near enough silent. When I unplugged my back and front fans I could hardly hear the PC at all.

I'm quite tempted to go for the S-FLEX 1200 RPM, but at £24 I think it's rather expensive for fans.

I think I'll go with the Yate Loon 1350RPM

Someone just linked me to the Lian Li stock fan stats. The Yate Loons are a few DBa louder, but push about 10cfm more air?

I have the original Ninja and the fan isn't a S-Flex. The rev B Ninja has a good fan (according to MikeC at SPCR - think I read it in a review) but still not a S-Flex.

I can't see them including a fan which retails for over £10 on a heatsink costing less than £30.
