Hi,
I was wondering if you good people at hexus could advise me on the case with the best cooling at around or under £100 - £75 or less is preffered;
The case MUST have excellent cooling and fit an 8800GTX with an nf 680i mobo.
Thanks

antec 900 but im not 100% on the 8800gtx part, but i expect so.
that was one of the ones I was looking at - if i can I might get the lianli a10 as that looks ot be pretty good bu it is more expensive
Apparently the antec 900 - (reviewed here http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=7507 )
Will struggle to fit in an 8800
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=437051 This one is huge and has uber cooling:crazy: , I should know, It produces too much airflow imo:surprised:  . I cant ware a T-shirt sitting next to it because I get frozen. :)
But that is if you are crazy enough to live with the bizarre design of it :)
Put a few more lights in a a380 and it is your own chaved up citron saxo in your bedroom. :)
it looks a bit odd - that is my only gripe
Akasa Eclipse, a couple of Sahrkoon 2000 fans and you will be sorted, the other option would be to go for the Antec P180 but from personal experience I would say the Eclipse is the better bet.
care to link me to anyone in particular

what do you guys think of this>?
will it fit an 8800GTX?
The Thermaltake Armour is probably the best of the 3 - I'd still be tempted by an Eclipse/Mirage62 from Akasa though...
And another:p
15 more posts and then you can get Akasa Eclipse-62 for £78.73 incl. postage from Scan's today's only.

So as the air that's taken in can only be @ ambient temperature, the case does such a good job, that the air it throws out is sub-ambient? Right...
Go Lian-li. Whatever you can afford. They make great, deep cases, and all-but-guaranteed to fit an 8800GTX in. Short of that, get a non-HTPC Silverstone.
Yet another vote for the Akasa Eclipse 62.
This case is such a joy to work with. It just has so much space and offers great cooling to boot.
At 78 quid from Scan too I don't see how you can go wrong.
i was looking at a coolermaster Centurin 532 - and then ill replace it with a lian li A10 when i got a bit more case (basically when I build someone in my familys PC!
get the akasa, that antec looks tacky IMHO
ahh right, thanks Thorsson :)
Jeantech Phong 2 found at PC World 50 squid!
The Jeantech Phong2 is such good value for money a great well designed case that has everyfeature i would want. Its so quiet and i enjoy its suttle looks ;) baargain
The Phoong as a stop gap for the Lian Li or go the Mirage now.
I just built my new system based on the Lian Li A10B with 8800GTX and the Abit AW9D Max mobo. It fits perfectly, the 8800 still has quite a few centimetres clearance. The exhaust fan above the 8800 pumps out a lot of the excess heat that the 8800 produces. Idles at 52 with the fan 58 without.
I have also built a similar system for a m8 with the mirage of the 2 the Lian is better both in quality and ease of build.
However £186 for a case I must have been mad:mrgreen:
One provision if you ever end up buying the Lian li dont get the Striker 680i there is not enough clearance for the top blower fan and the mosfet passive cooling on the mobo.
in getting the striker - what cpu cooler is best
Zalman 9700
Tuniq Tower 120
I was wondering which gave best performace - id originally planned the 9700 in my case with the striker extreme
I shortlisted the Akasa Eclipse/Mirage (same difference_ and Antec P180 - and the P180 was delivered this morning......
