G80 in which case?

Ive been researching over the debate of the G80 and which cases it will fit into; im going to purchase the XFX GTX, and the size is apparently from what ive found is 267mm x 98.5mm which is pretty big.

I know there are a lot of people who have removed the HDD bay from the p180 case and have commented on heat issues and cable issues, but what are peoples recommendations?
Basically im wondering which case people might recommend
for this gfx card and the p5b deluxe mobo?

Edit: Id prefer a G80, but with so many problems possibly id get an 7950...

Most of the Lian-Li cases should do the trick, very good cases may I add. Akasa Eclipse 62 and the Antec 900 will also do nicely for your need's.

only thing is is that you cat use a dual rad in the top vents as there is an anoying piece of metal there so serious modding or two singles are needed

I don't own that type of case but about that metal piece you are talking about, just by looking at the pictures I can clearly see both plastic fan holders and the metal piece in between are held by clips on the sides, they are not screwed in there or anything, maybe a good bit of pushing or minimal moding will be required but I think this case is by far the easiest way to get a dual rad in the top with the case still looking stock.

I absolutely love the Silverstone, but for less dough, you could get a nifty Lian-Li case (what I currently own) without sacrificing the quality.

I was looking at the antec 900, but from the pictures i have seen, and comparing the measurments it seems that the 900 is smaller slightly than the p180. Plus i couldnt tell if you could remove the drive bays to accomodate for anything, but please correct me if anyone knows any different, cause i think the 900 case is really nice.

Sorry excalibur2, i put the p180 on my list aswell, but after` reading the measurments for the xfx gtx 8800, i figured that the case would be too small and on some websites people have posted about cable problems, and airflow issues...
I really liked the p180, and after the cpc magazine did there thermal tests it showed promise, but not as it seems for the bigger gfxcards that are coming out.

Btw pollaxe whats the temps your getting in your Silverstone TJ09 case? and are you using air or water cooling?

I have posted enquiries to P180 users regarding this very issue and have been assured that a 8800 fits the P180 OK. It is a little tight, but there are so many other options for drives that freeing the drive bay behind the 8800 is not a real issue.

No cooling problems. The P180 has great airflow, and 8800 exhaust most hot air out the back of the case directly from it's cooler. If the P180 struggles to cool, then most other cases will struggle as much or more.

P900 looks to have good cooling, but is actually a bit smaller that the 180.

Akasa Eclipse / Mirage have better cooling and are wider, but not so deep, and are noisier and more expensive.

I Plan my next build in Jan with an 8800 and a P180. P190 is due out soon, and is bigger I believe with room for two PSUs.

...and it seems two Antec PSUs are included in the price, so the argument could be:- is two Antec PSUs (total 1200w) running graphics cards and motherboard seperately with lighter loads each (in theory less chance of failure), better than say one corsair running a heavier load for both.

Cos the P190 has been mentioned, so in a buying decision do you want the case which includes two PSUs.
But maybe you can buy it without? Anyway I'm not upgrading till Jan/Feb so it might be a better buy than the P180 which is on my list.
