Looking for a new DVD-RW for my sn27p2, preferably with lightscribe...

Can anyone suggest one that does well? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Is label flash exactly the same as lightscribe? I need a black one so it looks pretty with my shiny new case....

i also own the labelflash one mentioned earlier in this thread

for CD/DVD writing i prefer the samsung one

labelflash does look slighly better then lightscrbe but that is reflected in the price of disks they are about £1 each and can only be brought in DVD format

lightscribe costs about £4 for 10 Cd's and about £5 for 10DVD's

Ive got a black samsung one from scan that works brilliantly and is very quiet. Def woth a look.

Lightrscribe and labelflash essentially do the same thing, but slightly different colours. Think of it as hd-dvd vs blu-ray. There are plenty of comparison articles between the two. Personally, i went for lightscribe as it seems to be more widely accepted and supported.

What is so good about Plexxor? Why are they so expensive?

are you referring to those ivory bezel one's that cost about £50? I think it's just that the front bit is nice and shiny and expensive, nothing different inside!

plextor is supposedly the most reliable / highest quality component drive.

its pretty much standard in the pro recording industry.

its also known for being able to record more data on certain media than other drives (as in u can fit a little bit more onto a standard cd or dvd)
