    Yours is looking good
    at last
Have been out this am so left it:-
11hrs & running tcpu temps are around +2C in tat.

Yep my reading was that the jumper prevents accidental bios clearing when power on, it's quiet easy to press clr cmos button instead of reset (believe me). i have mine on pins 2-3 atm after all the issues i've had.

Your board seems to be showing similar symtoms to my 1st board, though that managed to run for a wekk or so bf showing symptoms you have.

Btw have been reading up on ocing lot of it from p5b deluxe have seen a lot of references to ICH & MCH voltages which of the voltages in our bios do these relate yto ?? is it SB & NB Vcore ??

    luck

    Try
Official 0803 just down load put it on a floppy or preferably something with more capacity. Boot up go into bios & select tools EZ Flash 2. if floppy or usb drive is available you should see the new bios file , just select flash & go.

if you have a spare floppy or room on your usb drive backup your bios 1st then you can always boot back to it in an emergency, (c manual 4-8)

    luck.

Here is a noobish question, do I un-zip the BIOS file then go to update it or just leave it as it is?

Oh cool sweet, its all done. nice one supershanks.
I got a bit worried when it kept on saying os missing but a few more re-boots and it was fine. I think I need to get some temperature sensors that are accurate as it does look really in-accurate. A fan controller/temp sensor combo would be nice.

the temps i don't think are to bad. cpu tends to under report on idle/low temps but is pretty close on load. Am using tat which reads temps from the cores themselves, probe doesn't read directly. tat currently showing 50/47C pc probe = 48C orthos blend @9 x334 3k.

i'm using 2x temp sensors from a fan controller 1 taped to my memory & the other to my homebrew pwm cooler. they show as tmp3 & tmp2 respectively in the screen shots i've posted. I think it's pretty cheap of asus not to include a set of the temp sensor cables, they'll cost next 2 nowt but are an item not in common supply.

    wot you gone 2 0803 ??

Just got back from scan now, I left at 12 mid day, Never, ever go to scan on the bus, its a nightmare!

Well, they swapped the board over, so Ill give it an hour to defrost and Ill get it set up.

And why is it so cold and windy near scan?

All built up, fired up first time, flashed to bios 803, restarted and now the board is dead again.

It is exactly the same as the last one, it just will not post and the cmos wont clear.

from a cold boot, it all sounds like it is going to work, the hard drives spin up, the dvd drive makes a noise and all the fans a spinning and leds lit up, but then it just sits there like that with no beeps and nothing on the monitor.

I spoke to a bloke at OCZ and he says that this ram is 100% compatible with the commando, and that he hasnt had any issues like this, so it looks like yet another duffer.

    Seriously miffed.

Took out the ram and powered up with no ram at all and it does the same as when the ram is installed, no beeps or anything.

    What a crock of crap

omg ul m8 . It is exactly what I had. I am not so sure about mine, unless the teamps are wrong with; 50-54 idel at 2.8ghz which is stupid (with TAT) I am confused too.
