Hey,
Have it in position 1. Then press both buttons at the same time "reset + clear cmos".
I've tested this again and its worked 9 out of 10 times. But remember you have to remove the power cord from the psu to dissipate any residual electricity from the bios. When I didn't remove the power cable it never reset
Also Clunk, I seem to have fixed the NB and SB heating problem. I removed it as suggested and reseated it, i put some Artic Silver 5 on there and I no longer have any issues.
Advice: Play around witht he Oc'ing settings in the "advanced tweak" menu. You'll find a happy medium between performance/stability. One thing you can be sure of its dam hard to break this board!!

Right, maybe some light at the end of the tunnel.
Supershanks, very kindly (cheers mate), offered to give me a lift to scan, so we went this afternoon, and the bloke tested the board and found it to be working fine, he even showed it me working, so, the only thing that it could be was my psu. I had already tried a different psu (enermax noisetaker 485w) and that wouldnt work either.
So, when I got back, I rang Enermax and they asked when I bought the PSU, and they said that there was a small number of Galaxy PSUs that had compatibility issues, and they are going to do me a swapout, which is nice.
In the meantime, Supershanks has lent me a silverstone PSU to try (deserves a medal), so Ill try that and report back, hopefully in the positive thread
Yep, on his unicycle, it was bizarre.
The manchester chapter of hexus visit scan 2 investigate commando issuesYep, on his unicycle, it was bizarre.
Right, borrowed psu is working, as is the commando, booted straight up, went in the bios, set it to 400x8 and its priming now, although there is an odd chirping noise coming from the board.
I could understand if it was cheep
Ouch lol! wife was just asking about budgiealthough there is an odd chirping noise I could understand if it was cheep
chirping noise may relate to this Buxzzing Commando there's apost somewhere in the thread were some1 tracks it down & fixes it but couldn't find it just now.
at least that's something chances are 1st boardfailure was due to same issue so we're back to 2 commando fatalities (mine & 72's.)
see how it goes.

Looking at the temps, there seems to be less of gap between TAT, coretemp and asus probe, and this board reads the temps for this 6400 even lower than the p5b did for the 4300.
TAT 56c
Coretemp 54/56c
Asus probe 54c / MB 32c
This is with 1.5v through the cpu @ 450x8
Lol sounds like your about to switch threads
yep both my boards have done the same but shaftyboyire & 72 are having significant variations. over in good news.
Yep, time to ditch this thread, and only use it for bad news
Although, I have to admit that the squeaking is getting on my nerves. It changes pitch and then suddenly stops, and when it stops, my ears feel like they have popped. Weird.
does the noise come from the Vmch regulator's coil, as in that xtreme systems link in last post but 1???Edit Doh! found the buzz 2 posts down
Not sure where it comes from yet, its more of a high pitched whistle, rather than a buzzing, and it changes to a high pitched warbling every now and again, and it only does it under load.
Its just died, exactly as before and wont let me reset the cmos. Battery out I think.
