Where Am I Going Wrong

I've just recieved a Weston Digital SATA II 320gig 16mb cache hard drive to be used soley for storage not for OS. My computer is the spec in the sig.
I've plugged the hard drive in via a SATA cable into SATA 1 on the NF7-S ver2 MB and its got SATA power from the PSU. The drive is working as it is warm and i can feel the small vibrations from it.
However i can't see it in my computer. All I have done in addition to the above is install the siliconimage 3112 SATAdriver from this page http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/mothe...RODINFO=Driver however when i click the setup.exe it comes up with a box saying no device found.
I have the floppy disc which came with the MB but as most people now i don't have a floppy drive.
How do i get this drive working? Please help

Are the SATA controllers enabled in the BIOS?

Which section of the BIOS should I look for that. I had a peak in there but couldn't see anything labelled SATA

Normally in Integrated peripherals (sp?)

you might need to change the jumper on the back of the drive to run at sata150 and not at sata300

OK I have got the drive now showing in Device Manager and windows has installed the drivers for it from the Silicon Image file i downloaded.
The drive isn't however showing in My Computer so what should be my next step

Sata II will automatically downspeed to Sata I when attached to latter port, so its ok. (At least it should )

If the drive is unallocated, theres a chance of it not appearing under windows. go to start>run>"diskmgmt.msc"
and look for it there,

if the drive appears, as black space, you'll need to create a partition and format the drive, (use ntfs)

i dont think u need to format the drive as they come preformatted but you might need to assign a drive letter perhaps

Cheers I was having a dumb moment. I'd figured out the right click my computer disk management method and drive is now formatting. Cheers chaps you've been a great help. I'm a bit new to this SATA lark god help me when i try to upgrade in summer.
