Get my vote, I have two and they work great under XP and MCE.

    Not sure about others.

Another vote for the Black Gold, fantastic quality.

I think I'm right however in saying that the single tuner card won't work under Vista (and is unlikely to in future), so that might be something to thing about.

The Black Gold dual tuner card will work fine though.

all current single-tuner cards are effectively identical anyway - philips tuner plus conexant cx88 chipset

the blackgold and nova-t included (i.e. you can use either's drivers or apps without noticing a difference)

Apparently 2 of them don't work (though they have new drivers for Vista now), but a single card certainly does. I can vouch for that.

There are however no 64-bit drivers available yet, that I'm aware of.

Can also rate the Nebula cards, been using one for around 2 years now with no problems or complaints

Lets see, what have i got.

Nebula DigiTV - Probably one of the best if you are going to use their won software. If not, then it is over priced. Their own software it pretty good these days and will continue to get better. It works will all their products.

KWorld DTV 100 - Apparently this is a cracking card. There wa some discussion of it on the Linux-DVB mailing list, very good hardware for the price.

Twinham Visionplus DTV - Again, this is apparently very good, but i haven't used it in ages, it ended up in my Mums PC for some strage reason.

Hauppauge Nova-T 500 - Using this just now. Channel changing is nice and fast, so is scanning. Runs a lot cooler than two regular cards as is it really just two USB tuners and a USB controller on a PCI card. Although this means there can be USB driver issues.

I'm not sure if it is the card that is causing problems with MediaPortal, or the box itself. I really need to spend some time seeing what is causing my system crashes
