HP Color Laser

We have an HP Color Laserjet 2600n printer at work is there any way of using it as a mono printer as the colour cartridges are so expensive.

Not sure if setting it to black & white in the settings would help (does it just have 3 cartridges? ie cyan magenta & the otherone (long while since I've used a colour laser) - if so I doubt it)

Otherwise have you considered a cheaper mono laser for the bulk of printing, then the Colour laserjet for the colour & good stuff?

Other option I can think of (which I've used) is a Xerox Phaser - with the solid wax cartridges, which I think work out cheaper (even though the initial cost seems high)

the Magicolor 2300DL i use at work just needs the print settings changed to Grayscale. while it needs the colour carts in none of it is used.

oh and dave, the other colour is "Yellow"
