Hi i am in the proccess of building a new pc for someone. One thats no too expensive whilst having room for future upgrades. I would like to overclock a bit as well. would these components be enough to overclock the hell out of a E6300?

btw does anybody know any good reliable sites that sell a large range of fancy cases and reasonable prices? cheers

Doesnt DDR2 have to run in dual channel?
i think that the 460W PSU might be enough to run a 8800GTS, though i'd go up to atleast 500W.
And yes..you should be able to overclock the hell out of a E6300 with that, im planning to do that sometime with my current E6300 System (see "My System" :))
-
umm im not sure, if so that means i would have to purchase two 512's.
btw is that cpu cooler any good? i read in custom PC that there was a cpu similer to that one that got voted the best cooler for a core 2
-
apparently that coolers really good...i almost wish i went OEM and bought a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro...
and yeh...i got the 2x512mb corsair DDR2 6400, good ram :)
whats the guys budget?
-
Josh give us a budget M8 then we can help further. As it stands your fine but I would look at changing the Akasa PSU. Its not the strongest psu I would spend an extra tenner and go for this

Stronger 12 amp rails better quality all round. Silverstones PSU's are made by Estasis a very reliable PSU manufacturer.

If you can give us your budget so much the better.

ok i dont want to go higher than 600. thanks
-
you/he got fans, operating system etc?
-
case comes with fans and yea we have xp pro.
-
ah. good good, ill have a look around for stuff
-
Same here M8 will have a look tonight. The 600 gives a good margin.

K
I wouldnt go for the ABit to many issues with that one.
Well if I was in your position this is what I would go for.

DDR2 doesn't HAVE to be run in Dual channel, i'm using one stick of XMS2 (1gig) right now and it's fine. however, pairs make it run faster, i'm getting another as soon as i figure out how to afford it!
-
Does the MSI board allow you to alter the multiplier, have read that some boards won't let you do this when used with an E6300?
-
Hi i have conected and setup all of m components but when i try to turn it on, nothing happens. only the fan from the psu, cpu and gfx card comes on :( i also recieve a red light from the case's LED ights.
i have connected the atx24pin nto the mobo succesfuly as well has the atx 12v power connector (2x4).
it should come on but i dunno whs wrong :(
hope yo guys can help, thanks
-
ahh not to worrie. i figured out the problem. the cables attached to the case wasnt on correctly doh!!
-
I suppose this is built? If so what components did you go with?
If you went for the AB9-Pro i pray that you dont have lots of problems :D
The silverstone PSU is good but for another extra £6 you can get a 520W Corsair (better).
But from your posts i think youve already built.
