8800GTX driver page problems

I can probably go to nvidia.com or somewhere to get help on this if you folks dont know, but thought I would check incase any of you know.

Anyway, I have a couple of little problems I want to try to fix.

1) In my task manager, I have "nTuneService.exe" running, and I dont want it to be :p I am not using any overclocking software or anything, although I do use the driver settings page to let different games load with different settings like Anti-Aliasing and stuff. But I dont think that should make nTuneService.exe have to run in my task manager all the time. Does anyone know how I can stop it from running?

2) Sometimes when I click on my Nvidia Control Panel icon in the Windows Control Panel page, my mouse cursor freezes and stops working... I have to reboot my computer to get it working again. The computer doesn't freeze cause I can still navigate using the keys, but its worrying anyway. This doesn't always happen, just sometimes. Anyone know why that may be? And how I might fix it?

yes u can disable ntune, its for the auto overclock features and monitoring.

as for #2, uninstall drivers, run driver cleaner pro (google it)
and install the latest nvidia drivers.

How do I disable it though? I have tried but for the life of me cant figure out how to stop it from loading.

As for the second part, this is a brand new hard disk in a brand new PC, so everything is a fresh installation, and everything was the latest drivers. So I shouldn't need to driver clean.

So I could uninstall them, and install them again, but I just figured that may not work seeing as its the exact same drivers, and I also thought it might not be ideal because drivers sometimes get confused or the PC can get sluggish if drivers are installed over existing drivers (even the same ones?). So that was kind of my last resort.

Thanks, it was in there and I've unchecked it. My only concern with that though is, isn't MSCONFIG how you basically force stuff to stop running? So shouldn't I be able to disable something like that from the actual control panel without forcing it to stop?

Yeah I just realised there is an unistall entry for it in Add/RemovePrograms.

I would rather keep it on the system incase I wanted it in the future though, but again, if theres no way to actually to just turn it off normally, then I'll just remove the whole thing or force it to stop running in msconfig.

Msconfig didn't stop it. So I just uninstalled it, and that worked.

I also found out that the mouse cursor freezing is just a bug with the new nvidia drivers which they will hopefully fix sometime.
