Right, i'm sorry i know a lot of people do this. I am about to sell my Macpro becuase i dont need to desktop machines, so i'm buying a mac laptop and building a gaming PC.

Please see the below screenshot and add any comments on the items that i have picked. I have not decided yet what case to go for, possibly the Akasa Eclipse 62????

Looks good, the 600w PSU is a possible weakpoint if you ever go SLi, and I'd still go for the Eclipse over the Coolermaster Centurion

If it where my money I would probably go for an 8800 GTS instead of GTX. The performance is almost as good, and you save a load of cash and avoid some issues with the dual power connectors and the size of the thing.

I might also look into water cooling options, to get both a quieter system, and more overclocking options.

Estasis 850 watt. Listed on Nvidias SLi Zone as accepted for GTX SLi. Estasis make the Silverstone PSU's so read up on any Silverstone 850 watt and its a Estasis. They also do a 750 watt which would be more than adequate.

650 watt version just search Scan for the others. Bit more expensive than the Seasonic but a worthwhile investment.




Dont bother wit the Centurion the Eclipse is far superior and it will take the 8800 GTX without a problem. In the centurion it will eiether be very cramped or not fit at all. ihad the 532 with 7900 GTx and that was a tight fit.

Stick with the GTX 22 and 24 inch panels will be coming down in price, I was half a mind to buy a GTS myself but went for the GTX in the end. Now I have a Dell 24 inch and the picture is to die for. Could be you would want to do the same at some point.

I dont think i'll go down the SLi route for a while i think i might as well stick with the 600watt Seasonic psu for now.

Yup, either the Seasonic or Corsair PSU would be fine if you aren't intending to go SLi

i965 can go to higher FSBs, but has to run at looser timings than the i975 chipset - with a 6600 with its higher multi either is good

Being a Mac person, you may want to go back to using the first board you specced, i975 has better support then the i965 in MacOSX86

I'd say that a good choice would be the Antec 900 Gaming Case.

Ample space, nice cooling and also a few nice features.
