Time for Major Upgrade, Advice Please!

    Hi!

I've been toying with upgrading my main rig (as sig) for a while. Finally tempted by the blazing speeds of a friend's Core2Duo rig I've decided to go all 775. This means new motherboard, RAM, CPU and (in order to do the job properly ) a new GFX card (may wait until the release of the cheaper 8800GTS).

The rig will be for heavy duty gaming and all the usual office tasks. I've got some experience at overclocking so I'd like to pop the E4300 up to 3GHz. Just wanted to check that the components can handle it and are worth buying!

    Thanks in advance!

As I said I'm cannibalizing my current system so the CNPS9500LED will be reprising its role though I've heard good things about the stock cooler.

Yeah I've heard some mixed tales but it seems to have plenty of overclocking potential, I'm open to suggestions for other boards for similar money with the same kind of ability!

I agree with Clunk, for £15 it's better to stick with what you know will kick ass.

What ever you order, make sure you look in the "To Today Only" as they have things cheaper like the Palit 8800GTS which is at the moment only £244 inc vat.

Also a "Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, Socket 775, 1.86 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Allendale Core, 2MB Cache, Retail" is only £111.63 inc vat.

Also make sure you look in "Bundles of the week" and "Shop offers" to.

Ooo nice setup, thanks! I've heard mixed stuff about the S3 board but the ability to hit 3.6 would be fantastic, I'll do some research, its eesm the S3 has the 945 chipset, not the 965, is that going to make much difference?

As to the PSU, my Hiper is 580W and can hit 630W underload, should have more than enough juice.
