Xfi fatality pro
I cancelled my pre-order for Vista with OcUK and noticed this soundcard. Has anyone updated from an Audigy 2 OEM (the one with colour inputs on the back) to one of these? If so was the difference significant? At the moment I'm toying with getting Vista Home Premium retail, but I may leave that until next Christmas, as although I want to mess about with it, it still wouldn't be much good for gaming until summer. Does the Pro offer anything over the OEM Xfi xtreme music, other than a box and some ram?

I went from an Audigy 4 to a X-Fi extrememusic. The difference was noticeable in music, but not outstanding. Huge difference in games though.
I wouldn't bother with the fatal1ty version.

I play 2142/CS:S etc so I guess they'd make some use of the card.

I went from the Audigy 2 ZS to the Fatal1ty.
I only did it for the break-out box but noticed a difference in SQ. I do have both a very nice AV setup and a very high quality headset though. YMMV

Ive gone from ooooold onboard sound to a X-Fi extreme music, and i must say the difference is well for me massive. Games feel like they are on that higher stage of realism and i become immersed in the game. Although a high quality card and poor cheap speakers/headset arent going to work :D

The battlefield games are much better with the x-fi mode enabled. Sounds great :D

I had one in a rig the Fatality + FPS + Bay one and it was pretty good!

Well I ordered this to go with my HD595 headphones I ordered today.
Can't wait to get 'em up and running.

I have just changed my sound card from an Audigy 2 ZS to an X-fi Fatality (without the I/O panel for the 5 1/4 bay) it was on special at Scan for £69 (only £18 more than an Xfi Music OEM).
I was hesitant buying it, but glad that I did. The differnce playing music is huge and worth the buy. Still have to test in games, but so far I'm glad I bought it.
