Final RAM choice!
I am about to order my RAM, and I was going to go for some of this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-000-TG
but then I had a brain wave!
and it was buy a 2x 512 sticks like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-001-TG
and then use the money saved on the memory to buy a water cooling kit for the cpu. about £100.:)
What do you think shall I go with 2 gb of RAM an go with air cooling, or 1 gb of RAM and water cooling?
thankyou
-
get the 2GB of ram, much more useful. buy a cheap air cooler such as the artic freezer pro
-
cheap watercooling kits are a waste of time imo, air cooling is fine if you can stand the 'noise' from it, 2gb of ram is much much better than having a watercooling kit to keep the temps 2 degrees below air cooling would ....
-
2gb is the norm now adays - so get 2gb and forget the water
-
Same as everybody else go for 2GB everything seems much smoother with 2Gb compared to 1 Gb.
-
Ok cheers all:) . I could look into going water in the summer when I might need it:) as it gets quite hot in my room :).
So what do you think of the RAM?
I might stretch and get some of the black hz g skill memory as it is only £15 more and it has better chips me thinks.:)
-
get the 2GB for sure mate, i waited to get the best possible water cooling for my PC and im glad i did
-
2GB and a decent air fan, (arund £15)
Nox
-
i've got that memory and its frantastic :D
-
Sweet, how does it clock? and have you glued the heat spreaders on ?:)
-
i aint overclocking it:D
haven't got round to it yet, but i've heard it clocks very well:)
-
Do you use the heat spreadders, you know the silver things:)
and does it come with the glue compound stuff to stick it on?
thankyou
-
mine were already stuck on when i got them :) ive had them since about july/august time.
-
O rite o sorry:mrgreen: it's just in all the reviews I have seen they have been separate.
Well I am looking at those or the black g skills, but I think I will go with the team memory.:)
-
i had the HZ kit for my abit 939 board, and it just wouldn't play ball. I'd go for the Team over the Geil anyday:D

2GB RAM and an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro (about £15). Low cost water is a waste of money, the ACFP will be probably perform better also as it helps cool other motherboard components with the airflow.
