Are you talking about retrofitting a different motherboard into the xbox case? That sounds like a huge amount of hassle and probably impossible anyway. The xbox MB, like all console boards, is a custom design.
Which is very easy :)
A ITX / Shuttle board would probably fit in an Xbox without any issues (of course, you'd need to mod it :)). Pretty sure a MATX would be too big though.
edit - dont forget the Power issue you'll have once they are fitted. Different versions of the Xbox have different PSU's in them, and wont all be suitable for powering a normal motherboard.
mine says 350w on it somewhere...i know i saw it earlier...
does anyone know a really good guide on how to mod it?
and do i need mech assault whatever mod i choose to do?
http://www.xbox-scene.com/
And there is no such thing as a 350watt Xbox PSU :p
it just says it somewhere lol, i thought it wasnt right....
thanks for that :)
ooo...very nice.
thanks for that :D something for me to attempt next weekend :)
Of course he's basically just gutted the xbox and is only using the plastic shell as something to hold a SFF PC. Impressive though.
yep...and ive just seen the prices of ITX mobos :(, couldnt i just use a cheapo laptop motherboard?
im not bothered with XB games, there all gonna be sold to raise funds for this :)
Oh right so its just going to be used as a case then? Or are you using some parts that are already in it?
IF you dont need to play XB games then well go for it, shouldnt be too hard. Would recomend getting another fan on it though.
im not sure whether im going to use parts in it already...just i need to get a PSU and a mobo in there...so im not sure what will fit in there... (mobo mainly as i can really afford a ITX one :()
edit:
also does anyone know of any motherbaord apart from ITX that will fit into an xbox console?
