None, unless you have multiple monitors or a huge res single monitor.
Not a huge amount really, they add at max 40% performance and will always be beaten by a higher spec card (except 8800GTX SLI). Best value is always high spec single card.

Mine you I would have to say that, if you can get a second graphics card cheap then go for it, like from ebay or your local paper :mrgreen:

high resolutions are getting the norm for the enthusiast again.
22" 24" and 30" monitors are common, as such SLI can really help with the high res images.
If you look at the voodoo2, a popular card for SLI, why was this? If you where doing things above 800*600 (which was the poor person option) then you needed SLI. I remeber when i switched to a 17" and used the blistering res of 1280 in my desktop my voodoo2 was sudenly not enough.
SLI really helped with this market then as i'm sure it does now.
Back then most people bought the card thinking they could SLI it if need be. Most didn't SLI it.
Same is probably true now!
