Asus A7V8X-MX - VCore stuck @ 1.85v

Just built a really basic system for a friend using the motherboard in question.

I'm also using a Duron 1300 in it.

What is the default vcore of this duron? 1.65v?

Why is the board putting 1.85v through it? This is wreaking havoc with temperatures. Idiling at 60 atm

How do i change the vcore on this board. Pretty sure there is NOT an option in the BIOS.

What happens when you reset the bios? Have you checked the manual for any jumpers that may control the VCore?, it seems unlikly that jumpers would control the VCore as this has been done in the bios for a long time.
Also are you using the latest bios relese?

Firstly, thanks for the reply.

I have looked through the manual and cannot find anything on adjusting the vcore.

I have the latest BIOS release too.

I will try resetting the bios now. Has no effect.

Also, sometimes when i power on the disks and fan will spin up. Then the computer will briefly restart completely and continue as normal. Why?

hi m8, have got the same mobo, have you checked that tjhe vcore jumper is set right? as one setting is for ranges 1.7-2.05, the other 1.5-1.85, try swapping them round.

Where is this on the mobo. I read the whole manual and looked at the mobo for ages and can't find it!

Anyway, done some Googling and it sounds as if this motherboard is a bit poop. Not what the reviews on the online stores site said.

I'm gonna RMA it and get the A7n266 from OCUK (unless you know of anywhere in stock and cheaper).
My dad has that mobo and its great!
