Gaming rig

Hey all. Aiming at the £1000 mark can you's help me put together a good gaming rig?

Probably go with E6600 C2D, not sure if i should invest in a DX10 graphics card yet?
Don't need a monitor i'll hook my 26" sammy up to my tower.

Speakers and mice/keyboard can be sorted out at a later date.

This is my first time building a pc so all help is appreciated.

free shipping? also i would change the mobo to an nforce 680i and i would also wait for an E4300 and overclock the hell out of it.

I think Steve B has it pretty much dead on. Maybe a 680i motherboard. I wouldn't go for a E4300 for you budget. E6660 all the way.

Might want to add a decent CPU cooler on there, as the stock coolers are poo according to the reviews.

520watt PSU?? Get at least 600-700 with an 8800. Also the Samsungs are supposed to be quiet but not that fast. Get a 300gb Seagate instead. You could also add a raptor for the os.

nForce chipsets + Intel CPUs = bad

The P965 is stable and well supported.

I would go for a Corsair 620w it perfect for future upgrades

The 520w corsair is alright, its got 40A on the 520w and 50A on the 620w.
