    Best DVDRW atm?

I think my pioneer DVR108 is on its way out. It's generally quite slow and has trouble reading my BF disks, although they are a bit tatty the sony dvdrw in the other room is fine with them (18x dvdrw).

    What's the best atm?

I was looking at the Samsung 18x DVD-RW, seems to have everything I'd need. I've got a Sony drive on my machine at home, and its been brilliant

I can only second what dave87 has posted. I use Samsung for 2 hard drives and 2 opticals, including a 18 x DVD-RW. I believe that the Sony ones are also very good, so wait until Mr Scan has it on "Today Only" special offer.

Using a Samsung in my system now, quieter than my old NEC which the G/F got. Can't fault the samsung drive at all to be honest, its dirt cheap, quiet and fast, no problems with it at all, and I think it looks pretty funky to be honest

Got the Samsung SH-S182M from Scan for my HTPC, and compared to the Pioneer DVR-111D in my main rig, it's quite a bit louder. I'd go for another 111D if I was buying again at this point in time.
