U should get in touch with scan - their support section may be able to help u & will determine if rma is required.

    Have u tried
    2) have you unplugged everything, flipped out the battery & pressed the clear cmos button. Try leaving the battery out for 10 inutes or so. if you boot go into bios load bios defaults save & exit. Then reboot again & change your vdimm to whatever your HZ needs

Nope it didn't work what do you mean ask scan if it is necessary? surly if I am to replace it they need to test it first?

I have just tried my m8's ds4 and it booted first time!
So that means the asus commando mobo is messed up! like I said the cmos

I have another question, why does windows not start as it is installed on my hard drives?
or do I need to wipe the disks and install windows again?
but the important thing is that it booted.

Have you taken the hard disk with Windows out of another sysetem and put it in the Commando build? If so it will have the wrong Chipset Drivers, LAN drivers, etc etc..

Always need to reformat and install again with a different MB - or have I misunderstood?

I hope to install OS on my Commando build tonight...
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Um actuallt windows has booted but, as soon as I get into the desktop windows just sort of blocks me, windows does not freex but blocks my keybourd and mouse but things come up on screen eg.msn. A error comes up saying something about my drivers for the asus commando.
But windows wont let me delete the asus drivers or install the gigabyte ones.

No,no lol sorry for not being clear, in a bit of a rush. No the commando is not sorted but I was just having some probs with this ds4 but I sorted it . I am going to RMA the commando I think, because I cant get it to boot, even with resetting the cmos, removing the battery, moving the RAM and all of that , also all my hardware is fine because I booted first time on the ds4, so it had to be the cmos in the commando, unless....

Well I'm sure it isn't the answer to your problem, but something similar happen to me (not cmos) and it turned out to be the power supply........and I was so convinced it was the CPU after being overclocked for years with an average cooler.
