Just thinking there are probably thousands of Intel E6***s coolers lying around in people drawers that overclockers don't use...what a waste of buying something you don't want, all adds up to wasting earth's resources etc etc
Anyway are they of any use for other cpus even AMD?
haha, I think I have around 4 stock CPU coolers lieing around. They don't/won't get used ever either since who wants a stock cooler? You can't sell them and you can't bin them.. only place is either a skip or to mod onto a graphics card or soemthing :S

Yep your right but until OEM warranty period is the same as retail it will carry on, with both Intel & AMDall adds up to wasting earth's resources etc etc
It's sitting in the box, never been touched...
May come in useful when I sell my CPU, in a couple of years...
Those guys in Brussels should do something useful for a change and instead of picking on Microsoft for something we don't mind having should pass a law..........."People have the right to choose what they buy, and anything seperate from a main component must be classed as an optional extra".
So Intel and Amd must offer the option of with and without a cooler and priced accordingly.

People would be put out of work making up those nice retail boxes, not forgetting printers for the nice pictures, Oh then there is the ink, and the trees cut down to make the boxes, waste storage space compared to OEM, then there is................................................
I might try and find a way to turn mine into a desk fan, other than that it is just sitting in a box in the loft.
