Best Connection For TV

Just upgraded TV to a rebranded Thomson 32LB125B5 from Woolies

I now can see all the imperfections my old CRT hid so well! Was wondering if you all could help me with some information.
I was reading a bit about RGB, composite and scart leads, e.t.c and was just wondering what would be the best?
I think it is the component and RGB leads are best though RGB are favoured?
Would i notice a considerable difference if i bought a RGB leads for my current DVD player;

From what I understand if you go in to the TV with standard definition (Scart, Composite, S-vidio) the TV will do the upscaling which is often quite poor (as you are seeing).

A dvd player with built in upscaling should be better. Does your DVD player have component out? If so get some cheap cables and give it a go.

If not Richer Sounds have a range of cheap ones. If you live near a shop you get the added bonus of actually being able to hold one first!

Thanks for the reply! I seen a few of these 'upscaling' dvd players on Ebay was keeping an eye on the prices, 40 pounds seems to get you a good make (Samsung) which is very decent

The scart connection, actually contains composite, S-video, RGB and audio all of which are analogue signals, just different qualities (RGB>S-Video>Composite).
For the best quality i would reccomend HDMI which is a digital signal, so you dont loose any quality from converting a signal into analogue and then back to digital.
